This Course allows one to reinforce his or her knowledge and skills in the practice of all forms of conventional and judicial mediation as well as his or her ability to manage conflicts amicably.

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

 Master the mechanisms of personal communication and the impact of its communication on human relations
 Situate the place and role of mediation in relation to other methods of conflict resolution
 Take ownership of the mediation process and the mediator’s communication tools
 Integrate the specificity of the third party’s posture in mediation
 Administer judicial and conventional mediation
 Know the place of law, ethics and fairness in mediation
 Develop mediation in one’s personal and professional environment

About this program

The UD "Mediation and Conflict Resolution" is reserved for candidates in continuous training from all kinds of cultural backgrounds, public or private, and is recommended for those who have a personal or professional mediation project.

Course content: 153h30 of courses + 60 hours of independent studying and thesis writing.

Anxious to meet both the expectations of professionals (particularly magistrates and lawyers) and to promote the culture of mediation as an amicable means of dispute resolution, the Faculty of Law, Political Science and Management of La Rochelle has created in partnership with the Maison de la Communication a UD in Mediation and Conflict Resolution, open exclusively as a continuous course. Carried by a pedagogical team associating academics and experienced mediators, this UD offers a practical course in judicial and conventional mediation.

Lawyers, magistrates, notaries, chartered accountants, expert surveyors, bailiffs, legal experts, company directors and managers, professionals from the health, medico-social and educational sectors.

REQUIREMENTS

- BAC+3 graduates with 5 years of professional experience in conflict management, team management or negotiation,
or
 10 years of professional experience in the same fields, without the requirement of a diploma.
Each candidate must be able to justify a personal or professional project related to mediation and the amicable settlement of conflicts.
